OKLAHOMA DIVERSITY OFFICERS
PRACTITIONERS CONSORTIUM (ODOPC)

Picture
Welcome and please take your Six-Foot-Chopsticks.  This may seem like an unusual way to introduce you to the Oklahoma Diversity Officers and Practitioners Consortium (ODOPC) but it comes from an Asian parable. The shorten version of this parable suggest that in hell, people starve because their hands are strapped to six-foot-long chopsticks.  Everyone in hell sits at a table of the most delicious foods but they cannot eat because the chopsticks are too long to bring even one grain of rice to their mouths. In Heaven the setting is the same, everyone is sitting around a table filled with the most delicious foods and their hands are chained to six-foot-long chopsticks but in Heaven no one starves, people use the chopsticks feed each other.

The goal of the ODOPC is to provide a forum for us to feed each other.  The consortium provides an environment to share best practices, professional development ideas and identify opportunities to work cooperatively.  Moreover, it is clear that by working together we can create a new level of synergy, leveraging our resources to better serve our diverse communities.

Please take a moment to view this website and accept our invitation to sit at the table.  Pick up your six-foot-chopsticks and begin sharing with others whom you believe can benefit by participating.
